I Work With Individuals, Couples, & Families

Hello! I’m Erica
LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
Our experiences in life dictate who we become and how we behave. Once a person is able to understand who they are and how they became, they can begin to heal what has been left behind by those experiences. This gives a person both the freedom from the old way of experiencing, and the power to move through life with less distress. Through the self, we find power. My focus is creating a safe and inviting space for you to explore your life experiences to discover more about the self and what you need to reach your goals.
In my office you can expect to be seen as the expert of your story, you have lived every moment of your life and I am here to listen to you. Sessions are client centered and revolve around what comes to your mind each week. My role is to teach you about how we develop as humans, becoming the one we are now, and just how your life experiences influence this. I will teach you how to care for both your self – mind, body, and soul – and your relationships. As you learn how you became who you are today and explore the experiences that led you here, my hope is that you will be able to accept all parts of yourself fully. Your acceptance and exploration of the self combined with the knowledge I will share with you, will give you what you need to grow.
I earned my education in Psychology and Family Studies at The University of North Alabama. My Marriage and Family Therapist training was completed at The University of Alabama. I have experience working with clients as individuals, in addition to couple and family units. My specialties include working with couples and families struggling with relationship conflict, differing personalities, and communication issues. In addition, my experience lies in working with individuals and families presenting with anxiety and depression, collegiate issues, general stress/unhappiness, as well as mood and personality disorders. I look forward to hearing your story.
